    Introduction

    The Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) is a global socio-spiritual Hindu organization committed to the service of God and society. It follows the Vedic teachings propagated by Bhagwan Swaminarayan.

    Foundation & Origin

    BAPS was formally established in 1907 CE by Brahmaswarup Shastriji Maharaj. Its spiritual roots trace back to the life and teachings of Bhagwan Swaminarayan (1781–1830 CE).

    Teachings & Philosophy

    The faith is based on Vedic principles that emphasize devotion, moral living, spiritual growth, and selfless service. These teachings guide followers toward personal upliftment and social harmony.

    Mandirs & Activities

    Commonly known as BAPS, the organization has a worldwide network of mandirs and centers. These serve as hubs for moral, social, cultural, and spiritual activities for people of all ages.

    BAPS is recognized internationally as an NGO with Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
