Mythological Legend
According to legend, Lord Ganapati appeared in King Vikramaditya’s dream and instructed him to find his idol in the form of a flower on the banks of the Parvati River and install it in a temple. When the king found the flower and carried it with him, it transformed into an idol of Ganapati during the night and sank into the ground.
